Will and Olivia’s Anniversary

In February 1980, Will Richardson married Olivia Adams. Now, 2 children and 25 years later, they decided to throw a little party!
For the occasion, they booked the big room in City Hall which they decorated for the party.

Jill and her parents dressed up nicely and waited for the guests to arrive. Finn would obviously come too, but he was running a bit late.

Screenshot-361

Soon, the guests started to come in. Will and Olivia had invited their neighbours, their coworkers, their family and their friends.hello guests

Patty was constantly going for the buffet tables. And I’m not sure Jasper (who’s Olivia’s nephew) was expecting to see his mother-in-law there, much less have her sit down with him… (And look, Finn has also arrived)

Screenshot-365

Grandma Phyllis (Olivia’s mum) also came, although I’m not sure she knew why she was there.

Screenshot-368

Finn didn’t mind having a bite with his grandma though. She was the only person not asking him why “his girlfriend” wasn’t there. Probably because she forgot all about her, but hey.

Screenshot-372

Jill was happy Sarah had come too. And the girls spent most of the night dancing.

Screenshot-375

Lucas had been hired by his aunt to tend bar for the night. He didn’t mind this job one bit!

Screenshot-378

Jasper and Eva were the first to start a slow dance, while Jill and Sarah had discovered the drinks Lucas was making!dances and drinks

Lucas’ mum Lauren is not much of a party animal, so she spent most of the night chatting to her son at the bar. I don’t think this is what Lucas had in mind when he agreed to tend the bar…

Screenshot-384

After hours of drinking, eating and dancing, people were starting to get tired and wanted to go home. Patty was the first to leave.

Screenshot-385

But Will and Olivia weren’t tired yet and had a romantic slow dance together.

Screenshot-391

Soon, the room started to get more empty though and Jill had to say goodbye to Sarah too.

Screenshot-393

After all the guests had gone home, the Richardson family posed for one last picture together and then the party was officially over.

Screenshot-396

It was a good party!

In other February News…

Hannah

Remember how Hannah had not been feeling well at the beginning of the year? Well, she was still feeling unwell. Tired and emotional, mostly. But, she still went to work anyway. Her coworker Aaron could no longer handle seeing her like this and went up to her.burn out

” Hannah, are you okay? We’ve been worried about you. You work so hard, but it all seems to be a bit too much at the moment…”

Hannah had to admit that he was right. She knew there was nothing medically wrong with her, but maybe she just had a classic case of burn out. Aaron adviced her to take a while of work and Hannah was happy with his suggestion. She would indeed stay home and rest for a while.

Jayden

February meant it was Jayden Harrison‘s first birthday!

Screenshot-334

Happy birthday Jayden! Aren’t you the cutest!jayden 1

Joel seemed happy his brother was one year old too and immediately took him to the playground at the park.

And with Jayden, Joel and the (hopefully) fast melting igloos around Honeycomb Valley, we end February and look forward to the first spring days of March!

February 05: Together and Apart (Pt.1)

In February 05 Rebecca Edwards got married. But this wasn’t the only happening that month. Much more happened around town. Some sims celebrated their togetherness, while others fell apart…

The Truth About New Years Eve

One February afternoon, Sadie was reading a book in the living room when Esme came in, chatting on her phone.

Screenshot-158

“Bahaha, she’s wearing that awful dress your mother wore? No Martha, you’ve got to be joking, that thing was oldfashioned even when your mum got married! Yeah…, Yeah, I know! Oh absolutely…”

Sadie didn’t mean to eavesdrop on her sister, but when she heard it was Martha Esme was talking to, she felt her anger rise a bit. Martha had some nerve, still chatting away with Esme like BFFs, when she had kissed her boyfriend on New Years Eve! Sadie was sure Esme didn’t know about this stunt Martha had pulled, or they surely wouldn’t be friends anymore.

Screenshot-168

Sadie felt it was time her sister knew what her best friend had done, so after Esme hung up the phone, she pulled her apart.

Screenshot-170

“See, Es, this might be hard for you to hear, but on New Years, I saw Martha kissing Finn… He didn’t kiss her back though! But she did try… I thought you needed to know…”

Much to Sadie’s surprise, Esme didn’t get angry or sad, she SMILED.
“Wanna know a little secret, sis…?”

Screenshot-174

” Martha didn’t kiss Finn because she wanted to so badly. I asked her to! Just for a laugh. And to test his loyalty to me, I guess!”

But Sadie was furious!how could you

” How COULD you do that Esme! What kind of crazy stunt is that!? And to think I’ve been feeling sorry for you for over a MONTH!”

Meanwhile, The Hot Wings were rehearsing in Daniel’s garage their rehearsal space. Sadie was supposed to be there too, but was running late because of the discussion with her sister. Sarah and Jill were present though, just for fun.

Screenshot-180

Daniel immediately threw down his drumsticks when Sadie entered, clearly upset.

Screenshot-181

Sadie told her boyfriend all about Esme.

Screenshot-183

Jill heard everything Sadie was saying and wasn’t amused. What was this girl thinking, pulling a stunt like that on her little brother!

Screenshot-186

So, when Jill got home early that evening, she sat down with her brother.

Screenshot-189

“So Sadie said, that Esme actually asked Martha to kiss you, just to test you!”

But Finn would have none of it!you're wrong jill

“You’re an idiot, sis. Don’t you see what this is? Sadie has had a crush on me for ages, Esme told me so herself. She’s just trying to come between us. Yes, I know you say she’s with Daniel now, but why else would she make something like this up?”

Screenshot-197

“Esme wouldn’t do something that stupid. You’re wrong Jill. Wrong.”

And then Finn left to meet his girlfriend for a snowy walk in the park.

Screenshot-199

Even though he was sure Jill was wrong, the things his sister had told him kept running through his mind, so he decided to see what Esme had to say…

Screenshot-200

“So… ummm… I have to tell you something… About New Years… Ummm… Martha tried to kiss me… I pulled away! But yeah… I thought you ought to know…”

Screenshot-202

” Wow!” Esme said “You’re the second one to bring this up today…”

for a laugh

“Don’t worry about it, lovely! See, the thing is, I already knew because I asked her to kiss you! Just for a laugh aaaaaaaand to see if you’d kiss her back. But of course you didn’t, cause you’re MY lovely Finny!”

And she grinned.:)

But to Finn, this was nothing to smile about…

who does that

“Are you insane?! Who does that?! What were you trying to do anyway, TEST me? Test me by letting your BEST FRIEND kiss me? What the… Who are you, Esme? It’s like I don’t know you anymore!”

Then Finn calmed down a bit and told Esme a bit less furiously that if this was what their relationship had become, then maybe they should not be in a relationship for a while…

Screenshot-215

But now it was Esme who got angry…fine finn

“You’re breaking up with me?! Over THIS?! Who are YOU!? Well, if this is what you want, then this is what you can get, Finn. Bye.”

And with that, Esme left…

Lucas Adams and his brother are as different as night and day. The fact that mum is nurturing and doesn’t want them to leave the house used to be fiiiine by Lucas. Once they moved in with grandma though, living at home started to suffocate Lucas a bit and he decided to find his own place. Lucas wants to be a chef but for now just works as a kitchen scullion. He still has a long way to go. part 1

There she is…

Screenshot-226

Rebecca felt very nervous as she walked down the aisle with her father…Screenshot-228

But Ben was happy to see her, and before long it was time for rings and those two words Rebecca had been rehearsing her entire life: I do.I do

And thus, Ben and Rebecca were married! Hooray!

Screenshot-236

After the official part it was time for pictures.
With the parents and the flowergirls…

parents and flowergirls

And with both sets of families…Families

Then both families headed to the Edwards’ house for the reception.
First order of business was the cutting of the wedding cake!cake

Flowergirls Bethany and Ruth were the first to grab a slice. After all, this was a little bit THEIR day as well.

first ones to the cake

Becca got a hug from her sister-in-law Edith. When she visited Bonnie Brae, Rebecca stayed with Edith and the two were already quite close.

Screenshot-263

Martha needed some wine to get through the rest of this day.

Screenshot-271

Rebecca still couldn’t believe she was married!

Screenshot-274

Ruth and Bethany really got along great, I think there’s friendship for life between this two!bff

When it got later, the two had to say goodbye though, as Bethany and her mum still had something else to do that evening.

Screenshot-278

After changing into their regular clothes at the hostel, Bethany and Edith stopped by the Knight household. Edith had seen an ad in the supermarket earlier that week saying this family had kittens up for adoption and she and her daughter really wanted to take one home to Bonnie Brae. They chose Snap and both Edith and Bethany couldn’t be happier.kitty

Meanwhile, the rest of the Brown family, including Ben and Rebecca had arrived back at the hostel too. Ben and Rebecca got the Turquoise Room for their wedding night. It isn’t a fancy room in a fancy hotel, but at least it’s private.

This was the part of getting married Rebecca had been dreading… A wedding night meant… well…

Screenshot-279

She retreated into the bathroom to get changed and came out wearing what she felt was already quite a revealing nightgown. Bare arms and all that…change for the night

Her husband told her she looked beautiful

Screenshot-283

And soon started to tickle her to make her laugh. It worked, but Becca was still nervous.frisky

As they settled onto the bed, it became clear that although Rebecca might have been dreading this part of the wedding, this was the bit Ben had been looking forward to…

Screenshot-290

Goodnight Mr. and Mrs. Brown…the night

Bye Bye Becca

Veryyyy early the next morning, the two families met at the busstation again. It was time to say goodbye. Goodbye to Rebecca.

bye my family

Bethany and Ruth also said their goodbyes and Bethany promised Ruth could visit her sometime soon.

Screenshot-301

And then the bus left and Becca waved goodbye to her family. Amy was sad…

Screenshot-306

And so Rebecca waved to her family as they faded in the distance…fadingBye bye Becca, I’m sure you’ll be very happy in Bonnie Brae and we’ll see you again soon!

February 05: I Do (Pt. 1)

A lot happened in Honeycomb Valley in February, but the biggest event had to be THE wedding. No no, it wasn’t any type of royal wedding, or even a wedding of a VIS (Very Important Sim), but it was a wedding two big families in two different towns had been waiting for: the wedding of Ben Brown and Rebecca Edwards…

Leading Up to the Wedding

About a week before her big day, Rebecca was admiring the weddingpicture of her parents when she was joined by Martha.

Screenshot-38

“Doesn’t mother look beautiful, Martha? I’m so happy I can wear her dress to my wedding…”

Martha thought this remark was very funny.

Screenshot-40

“You’ve GOT to be kidding me, Becks, you’re actually HAPPY you get to wear that thing?!”

Rebecca had no time to worry about her sister’s opinion, because she had to be at the busstation. The bus from Bonnie Brae* was about to arrive!

***Note: Bonnie Brae is my mum’s town and Ben and his family are her sims, which she created. It was a lot of fun to have them in Honeycomb Valley for a while!***

Screenshot-46

And after the other bus had left, the bus from Bonnie Brae rolled into the busstation. There they were: Ben’s entire family.
It was a big bunch. Ben being the youngest child of Jeremiah and Agatha Brown meant he already had 3 siblings (a sister and two brothers) who all had spouses and children.

Arrivals from BB

After hellos and introductions to Rebecca and her parents, the Brown family went to the Rainbow Hostel (not too fancy and therefore, not too expensive) where they’d be staying until after the wedding.

Screenshot-57

Ben however, quickly left after dropping off his luggage for a date with his fiancée.
Coming from a small town, Ben is not used to public transportation, and most certainly not to underground systems. He had to try it!
Metro

Rebecca was already waiting for Ben at the Aquarium.Screenshot-68

Ben was so happy to see her, he immediately offered her some flowers he picked up on the way.

Screenshot-70

Once inside, the stared at the fishies together for a while. Rebecca was stunned to see robot fish in the aquarium.
Fishies

Ben just thought she was cute and proceeded to tell her so.

Screenshot-79

And then he made a really bold move…

Screenshot-80

Wow, Rebecca’s first kiss! She seems to have enjoyed that.

Screenshot-81

They went on the have a bite to eat at the restaurant downstairs.

Screenshot-83

After a fun day with Rebecca, Ben went back to his family and picked up some food for them too. The hostel doesn’t have a restaurant, but it does have a breakfast/lunch/dinner room with a small kitchen unit where you can make yourself some breakfast or enjoy food you picked up at a take away. Which is what the Brown family did.family hostel meal

After the meal, everyone retired to their rooms. Jeremiah and Agatha got the Purple Room, a private room, while the men stayed in the Red Room, a dorm for ten people and the women and youngest children got the Orange Room, also a dorm for ten people, where some toddler travel beds had been placed for the little ones. Exciting times lay ahead!

Screenshot-103

Ben and Becca’s Weddingday

On the morning of Ben and Becca’s wedding, Ben’s sister Edith and her husband Caleb were the first to have breakfast.

Screenshot-118

Thanks to this, their children were the first to be ready too. Ben’s niece Bethany was going to be a flowergirl along with Rebecca’s youngest sister Ruth and she was so excited! To kill time she played a bit of peek-a-boo with her sister Matilda. Screenshot-121

Which she continued to do when her parents and brother were also dressed and they had to wait in the lobby for the rest of the family to get ready.

Screenshot-123

Pretty soon, Ben’s brother Paul and his wife Fiona and their daughter Gillian were also ready to go.

Screenshot-125

The groom himself was feeling a bit nervous and gave his reflection a pep talk. Screenshot-132

Eventually the whole family was ready!

Screenshot-134

At the Edwards household meanwhile, the mood wasn’t too pleasant… Father John did NOT approve of Martha’s choice of clothes to wear to the wedding…

you're not wearing that

“What in the WORLD are you thinking, Martha! An outfit like that to your sister’s wedding! What will people think if a daughter of mine shows up wearing next to NOTHING!? You’re going to change, RIGHT NOW!”

But Martha just laughed in her dad’s face.

Screenshot-143

“Wow dad, take a chill pill. I like this outfit, it looks stunning on me, so I’m wearing it, whether you like it or not. Besides, Becca is covering enough skin for the both of us, hahaha!”

Oooo Martha, I’m not sure that was a wise move… I suspect John let it slide because he didn’t want to ruin Rebecca’s day, but I’m sure the last word has not been said about this…

Meanwhile Rebecca was upstairs changing into her dress. Yes, it used be her mother’s but now it was HER dress. She couldn’t be happier.

Screenshot-146

Amy was moved when she saw her daughter in her wedding dress. Martha may not like the dress, but Amy felt Rebecca looked gorgeous!mother of the bride

Then the bride went downstairs to be admired by the rest of her family (with the exception of Martha, obviously)

Screenshot-151

Upon arrival at the church, the flowergirls were happy to meet each other.

Screenshot-221

And when everyone, including the groom, had found their place, the ceremony could begin…Guests all in place

See how Ben and Rebecca got married in…
