October 05: Moving on (Pt. 2)

Move back to…
part 1

Cats moving on

Sad times for two elderly ladies. Shortly after one another, Pebbles, cat of Donna Mason, and Mitzy, cat of Lydia Chapman, passed away. Both ladies were very upset. Maybe they can comfort eachother?

43

Will Esme move on?

When Spooky day rolled around, the teens of Honeycomb Valley only had a few lessons in the morning. And when Esme left school around noon and went to get her bike to go home, she stumbled upon something she wished she hadn’t…

44

Right… They’re not just friends anymore… For a moment Esme considered saying something, but she decided against it and quietly got her bike and rode off towards Martha‘s house. Only to realise when she was nearly there, her friend would not be…

45

So, she wandered unto the grassy area across from Martha’s house, where the busstop was and got out her phone.

46

– Hey Martha.  I miss you. Where are you? I figured by now you probably haven’t contacted me because the police screen my phone and you don’t want to be found. At least, I hope that’s the reason and you’re not lying dead in a ditch somewhere. I wish you came back… We’d deal with your crazy parents! I really need you back here, so much has happened. My sister is having sex (finally, right?) and Finn and miss too-much-hair are making out. Eugh. I really hope you will reply at some point. For the time being I guess I’ll hang out with Sophie tonight or something. But I’d really rather be with you. Love you. X. –

The party that had nothing to do with moving on

Over at The Greenery, Liam and Isa were playing in his yard, while their parents were preparing for a party.
The residents of The Greenery had decided to throw a feast party together to celebrate Spooky Day and had invited all their joined friends and family to The Field that night.

47

Colin made a fire and since no one had brought any food (yes, it was a FEAST party, yet no one brought anything, stupid glitchy game), Susie tended the barbecue.48

There were chats between friends, and new connections were made.49

There was some dancing. (Joel didn’t seem to mind being the only teen there)50

And Susie drew a picture of Bradley51

Liam played peek-a-boo with Isla and they were watched from some distance by mother-to-be Morgan.52

Morgan couldn’t wait to have a child of her own!53

Despite the party being rather uneventful, the guests stayed long and afterwards felt it had been amazing. Colin finally put out the last fire around 2 in the morning.

54

James and Jill move on

Earlier that same night, James, Daniel, Jill, Sarah and Seth were hanging out at The Bumblebee.

55

But Daniel withdrew himself from the conversation when an interesting text came in. 56

He sat back down for only a few minutes after that and then got up to tell his friends he was leaving.

57

“Right, I’m going. Sadie just texted me saying her parents are going to a party at The Greenery and her sister is out tonight too, so…. yeah… bye!”

58

“What! NO!” Jill exclaimed. “We just got here! You’re ditching your best friends for your girlfriend?!”
“No.” James chuckled. “He’s ditching us to have sex with his girlfriend. Perfectly justified! Bye Dan!”

59

“I seriously can’t believe this!” Jill went on.

60

“Oh, come on.” Sarah joked “You just don’t get it because you haven’t had any in years!”
“Well… that’s not entirely true…”
Jill replied. And looked at James.

6162

This look did not go unnoticed…63

“What was that!?” Sarah uttered. “What was that look?! Did you two…? No, you didn’t seriously go down that road again, did you? When?!”
“After the Christmas party…”

64

“…”

65

“So, does this mean you’re getting back together…?”

66

“No. We’re not.” James said resolutely.
“Well… maybe at some point…” Jill mumbled.

Seth hadn’t said much throughout the whole conversation, but now he was as shocked as his girlfriend was.

67

“I love you both, really, I do, but you just don’t work together! If you do want to give it a go, please consider it VERY thoroughly!”
“Indeed.”
Sarah agreed.
Then Seth and Jill went to get a drink and James was left at the mercy of his sister…

68

“You’re leading her on, James. She’s not over you, even though it’s been two years. And if you ‘occassionally’, ‘casually’ sleep with her, she never will  get over you. I mean, look at her, she still has hope in her heart you will one day get back together…”
“But we’re not, Sarah. It was just a fun night. You know me, I’m not looking for a steady relationship…”
“I do know that, James, but she doesn’t. And if you sleep with her, it means way more to her than it does to you. And it could ruin your friendship. You have to be honest with her…”
“You’re right, I know you’re right…”

A few drinks and a lot of laughter later, Seth felt it was high time he and Sarah had some privacy, so he told her.

69

She giggled. “Hmm, yeah, let’s go…”
Seth seemed very pleased!70

Just before leaving, Sarah turned to her brother and Jill. “Can we trust you two not to do anything stupid?”
“Sure sis. Go. Have fun.”
James winked.

As soon as Seth and Sarah had left, James sat next to Jill on the sofa and put his arm around her.

71

“I think we need to talk, Jilly…”
“Yes, you’re probably right…”
“I meant what I said earlier, I really don’t see us getting back together. I mean… you’re great and we both know we have an amazing time whenever we do get together, but I’m… just not in a place in my life where I want to be in a relationship. And I’m not sure if and when I will be, but you shouldn’t put your life on hold waiting for me… You’re much too sexy for that!”

Jill giggled and then got up.

72

“Okay. Okay. But I do love you, James..”
“I love you too, Jilly. You were my first kiss, my first love, my first everything. And on top of that you’re one of my very best friends. And I want us to always have that. Which is all the more reason we should let go…”

“Yes… You’re right.”

And after a looooooong hug, James went on to say:

73

“Now, go out there and find some poor sod whose heart you can break. Because you don’t even seem to notice it, but there is some serious interest out there, Jilly. Have you even noticed the way that Narai guy was looking at you when he gave us that tour? “

74

“Really!? Hmmm, I might look into that! But now I’m going home.”75

“Bye James…”
“Bye Jilly…”

And with that Jill moved on. As did James. Clearly.76

Lucy moved on

Near the end of the month, there was someone else moving on. This time it was Lucy, who turned 40! She celebrated by having a small dinner party with her family.

Susie and Luke were first to arrive. Lucy couldn’t believe how big her sister’s belly was getting!

77

Time for cake!

78

Nick in particular seemed excited about his mum’s birthday!

79

Then everyone sat down for a delicious turkey dinner Lucy had prepared. It was a good night.

80

Stonehill moving on

Meanwhile, work in Stonehill (the competition for a new name hadn’t had any great suggestions so far) moved on as well. Many derelict buildings had already been demolished and work was well on the way  through out the town. Many of the “residents” had left the area.

81

But on a small broken down park bench, a girl slept… And she looked familiar…

82

However, she wasn’t alone in the park. A boy quietly approached the bench where she slept and ever so silently picked up the backpack which was next to her and then just waited…

Sensing someone was watching her, she woke up and looked up at the boy. The boy holding her backpack.

83

She jumped up immediately!

84

“That’s mine! Give it back right now!”
“Here you go. You’re just lucky I picked it up and not someone else. Lesson one in sleeping rough: Always hold your belongings close. Oh, and don’t pack them in a fancy backpack. You are clearly new at this. I’m Ray by the way.”
“M…Mmm.. Martha…”
“Nice to meet you, M-Martha. You look like you could use a slightly more decent place to sleep. My friend Liz and I live in that building right there, for as long as it still stands. Come on, just make sure no one sees you.”

And so Martha followed Ray to the building he referred to as the “Runaway House”, where she was introduced to Liz.
They didn’t seem to hit it off…

85

And so, October came to an end and everyone moved on. On to November…

October 05: Moving On (Pt.1)

Moving on; according to the dictionary it can mean one of three things: To leave the place where you are staying and go somewhere else, to start a new activity, or, to accept that a situation has changed and be ready to deal with new experiences. Considering the events of October 05, “moving on” certainly seemed to be a theme in Honeycomb Valley…

After Martha moved on

The first day of October marked the morning after Martha‘s disappearance. In the midst of the morning chaos at the Edwards’ house, the fact that she wasn’t there first went unnoticed. There was annoyance over the bathroom and all the kids wolfed down their breakfast in an attempt not to be late for school.

wp-1490557242559.png

Joshua was the first to notice his elder sister was not present and he asked his mum if she had seen Martha come down this morning.

2

“No, I haven’t seen her” Amy said. “But she was in quite a mood last night, so I guess she just left for school early this morning.”

She hadn’t, as we already know… And Esme obviously noticed this immediately and checked her phone to see if she maybe had a missed message from Martha saying she was home ill or something. There was no message, so Esme decided to send one herself.
– Where are you Marth? Have they send you to the convent already? Text me back! X –

3

By the time the first break rolled around, Esme still hadn’t received a reply. This was very unlike Martha… When she noticed Joshua in the cafeteria, she went up to him to ask him if he knew what was up with his sister.

4

Joshua explained the events of that morning to Esme…

5

“She wasn’t at breakfast either, nor in her bedroom. My mum said she must’ve already gone to school, but I know she had a fight with my parents last night, so that might have something to with it…”
“Yeah, I know, she texted me last night saying something about how your parents want to send her to a convent or something? ”
“Ehhhh, I don’t know about that, but it sure sounds like my dad… I don’t think they already did though, my mum would tell us…”
“Well… something is not right…”

And so, Esme went to the police station after school, to see if someone there could help her. They promised they’d look into it.

6

Joshua in turn rushed home after school to share his worries with his mum…

7

“… She wasn’t at school! And Esme said Martha texted her last night, something about a convent? Is this true, mum? Have you sent her away?”

And then the realisation of the situation they were in came crashing down on Amy… She immediately called her husband in, who was working in the garden…

8

“She’s GONE, John! She must’ve ran away! Where is she, John!? What did we do!? We drove her away, John! This is all our fault!”

It took John a moment to gather his thoughts…

9

But he soon realised consoling his wife had top priority.10

“I’m not pleased about this either, dear, but we’ll find her. I mean, how far could she have gone, really?”

Amy and John obviously notified the police as well. Combined with the visit Esme had paid to the police station earlier, the Honeycomb Valley Police Department took this case very seriously and officers Abbey and Andrew were sent out to the Edwards’ house.

11

Amy was happy to see them…

12

…and immediately started telling them as much as she could.

13

John’s tone was a tad different.14

“Martha had lost her way and we were doing all we could to rectify the situation. Yes, we were going to send her to a convent, but as this shows, we were already too late and should have done that a long time ago. I think you should have a chat with that Esme girl as well, she’s been a bad influence on Martha ever since they were children… I wouldn’t be surprised if she was the one who talked her in to running away…

And yes, after the interview with John and Amy, Abbey and Andrew set off to visit the Stevens household.15

Sadie welcomed them in…16

… but it was Esme they came to talk to.17

Esme wasted no time in telling Abbey and Andrew all they needed to hear.18

“These people are crazy, I tell you. Crazy! I’m actually not surprised she ran way. If anything, I’m surprised she stayed as long as she did, to be honest! She was totally repressed there! Her dad would flip out over a skirt! Isn’t that like child abuse or something?”

And she didn’t stop there…

19

“No, she hasn’t contacted me, not since last night. You know, that’s weird as well, right? She ALWAYS tells me everything! Are you sure her dad hasn’t stuck her in that convent already? I wouldn’t run it past him… Maybe you should check the place out.”

Moving on to University

A few days later, there was a group of friends moving on in a different way; they officially enrolled in University. Daniel will study History, Sarah and Jill are exploring the culinary curriculum, Seth is going to be a Medicine student and James will obviously study Music.

Suzan and Anna, not pictured here, will take Philosophy and Politics respectively.

20

After their official enrollment, our friends had brunch at The Aquarium.

21

Finn moves on

Not long after it had become clear Martha had indeed disappeared, missing person posters were put up all over Honeycomb Valley to encourage anyone who had any tips on her whereabouts to contact the police. Posters were also put up around the high school. When Finn caught his ex-girlfriend staring at the poster of her best friend, he felt bad for her and went up to her to ask if she was okay.

22

Esme stared at the picture of her missing friend and sighed.23

“I don’t know Finn, I just hope she’s okay..”

A hug always helps, especially one from Finn…

24

After this encounter with Esme, Finn and Jada walked home together through the park.25

“You know, Finn…” Jada said.
“Hmm?”
“Don’t take this the wrong way, but… I think she’s still into you…”
“Who is? Esme?”
“Yeah… I mean, I know she’s sad about her friend, and I get that… But that hug… I dunno, it just seems to me there’s maybe more there than you’d think…”
“Hmmm… Well, you know what? It doesn’t matter. Because I’m not into her anymore! Come on, do you want to come over to my place? I have this new album and you just HAVE to hear it!”

And so they did. They had a little dance in Finn’s room.

26

And when the music became slower, they moved in a bit closer…27

There was a look…28

… an embrace…29

…and eventually, a kiss.30

Yup, Finn is definitely not into Esme anymore!

Daniel and Sadie move on

Also in October, Daniel and Jill both turned 20. To celebrate, they took their best friends (and obviously Sadie, being Dan’s girlfriend) out for a night of sushi and bowling.

31

After they had finished their dinner, Sadie and James, being the singers of The Hot Wings, did a little karaoke together.

32

And then it was time to go bowling!

33

As the night wore on, Sadie told her boyfriend she had thought of another way they could celebrate his birthday… Daniel didn’t need any further explanation.34

And the two lovebirds got on the subway to go to Sadie’s house.35

Once in Sadie’s bedroom, Daniel took a moment to ask his girlfriend is she was sure she wanted to do this…

36

She was.37

The next morning, Daniel was a bit nervous though. Having spent the night meant he would now have to face Sadie’s family and they would probably all put two and two together…
He expressed his worries to Sadie.

38

“The only one who’s likely to say anything is my sister and I’ll just tell her to shut up!”

So, they got up, Sadie put on her pyjamas and Daniel grabbed his t-shirt.

39

“Don’t worry. Sadie said. “It’ll be fine. I love you.”
“I love you too. Let’s go…”

And sure enough, the first person they ran into downstairs was darling Esme.40

Who wasted no time commenting on the situation…

41

“Well, well, look who’s here! So it finally happened, sis? About time too, don’t you agree?”
“Shut up Es.”

And with that, the awkward moment passed and they all enjoyed breakfast together.

42

September 05: A Little Bit of Everything (Pt.2)

Go back to…
part 1

Joseph and Martha

While the children were at school and John read a book in the autumn sun, Amy was busy making pumpkin pie. After all, it was a special day in the Edwards’ household…

Little Joseph had turned 1! Happy birthday Joseph! toddler-joseph

When the kids got home, everyone enjoyed a slice of mum’s pie.

screenshot-145

But after they had finished, John had a bone to pick with his daughter Martha.

screenshot-148

“Did you go to school in that outfit, Martha!? That’s unacceptable, young lady! You’re out of control and it’s high time you cleaned up your act!”

Frustrated, Martha called her best friend Esme and asked her to meet at the park.

screenshot-150

Martha wasted no time uttering her frustration.

screenshot-152

“I’m so sick and tired of it all, Es, seriously! I can’t stand living in that house anymore!”

The girls continued their chat on the swings.

screenshot-153

“You know Marth, it’s only two more years until your 18th birthday, then you can leave.”
“Oh, believe me, I will!”
“And in the meantime, you can sleep over at mine any time you like!”
swingset-talk

“Oh and Marth, did you see Finn today at school? That Jada girl never leaves his side. It’s like she’s obsessed with him. I mean, geez…”

Sophie’s news

Also at the park, was Sophie. It had been a while (probably weeks, but it felt like 2,5 years), since Sophie had sent that email to Jérémy. The one in which she had asked him what was going on and why he hadn’t met her during her visit to Sandy Valley, while he had said he would. She still hadn’t received a reply, but while she was walking through the park on her way home from school, suddenly her phone beeped. You’ve got mail…

screenshot-172

Uh oh… shock-mail

“Hey Soph! Yep, sorry for the festival. I was busy with… stuff. You know, I’ve been thinking about us, and I think that… I don’t know. I need to move on. Nothing against you, Soph, but I don’t want to be stuck in a relationship, I need air. Sorry. You’re awesome, and I did enjoy every single minute we spent together, but I need new experiences. Kisses.”

Oh Soph…sophie-upset

*** Note: Anyone also reading Sandy’s stories will know that Jérémy has since become a young adult and moved on quite a bit. It’s one of the consequences of my hiatus, while life went on for my simfriends. Despite this, I felt Soph still deserved the know the answer we received from teen Jérémy after she had sent her email***

It was a busy month for the best friends in Honeycomb Valley, because Sophie now also needed hers to help her through this crisis.

screenshot-183

Of course, Ruby was happy to help and met Sophie at the quiet little beach.

screenshot-190

The girls first sat in silence…

screenshot-193

Then Sophie started talking…in-need-of-advice

“I just don’t understand. I thought he loved me… I thought we’d get married one day…” good-advice

“I know Soph… And maybe he did love you… But long distance is hard… Not many people can do it… And look how long you’ve lasted! I mean, wow! You’ll find someone else, Soph, I’m sure you will. Someone who doesn’t stand you up in a foreign country…”

But Sophie didn’t want anyone else…

screenshot-194

Ruby had another suggestion.

screenshot-210

“You know what you need, Soph, some pancakes! My treat!”

And so the girls went for pancakes. But pancakes can’t mend a broken heart either…

screenshot-213

Henry’s interview

Henry had decided the best way to present his latest plans to the public, would be through the media and so he had invited Honeycomb Gazette journalist Abigail to talk about it all.

screenshot-215

They first had some coffee and some chitchat.

screenshot-218

But soon, Abigail started her interview. Henry told her all about Stonehill and how he planned to renovate en rejuvenate the town to make it a suitable place for students and young professionals. He also told her the town would need a new name and asked her to mention a contest held for the residents of Honeycomb Valley. All residents were invited to drop their idea for a new name for Stonehill in an ideabox placed outside City Hall. The name should reflect the purpose of the town and its connection to Honeycomb Valley. In the third week of October a comity would pick the best idea. Aside from having their name be the new name of the town, the winner would also be rewarded with a goody bag full of goods from The Greenery.

greenify-interview

After the interview, Abigail sat down at Foster’s to write her piece.article-writing

And the next day, this was the front page of the Honeycomb Gazette.newspapers-greenify

STONEHILL ANNEXED

Mayor Newman’s initiative to “Greenify Honeycomb Valley” is already well known around town.
With projects like The Greenery and the renovation of the park in Honeybee Quarter already proving successful, the question on everyone’s mind is “what’s next”?
After all, despite most residents supporting the initiative, talk about how and where has been buzzing around town ever since The Greenery was opened and mayor Newman declared he was far from finished. Would this mean businesses would have to leave Honeycomb Valley? And if so, where would they go? And what’s more, how would that effect our economy?
Now, we’re getting our answers. Mayor Newman announced in an interview with this newspaper he has been granted permission to annex the nearby town of Stonehill and thus adding it to Honeycomb Valley.
Stonehill was once a happy, lively mountain town, but when the economy crashed about 20 odd years ago, more and more businesses were forced to close their doors and more and more people became unemployed. Poverty washed over the little mountain town and the crime rate went up. Little by little, people started to leave the town until soon it was almost completely abandoned. The only people occupying the town at the moment are those of unsavory behaviour.
Mayor Newman plans to renovate the town and bring business back to it. This means businesses now located in Honeycomb Valley might get a place in the new town.
The new town is meant to be young and youthful and will be geared towards students and young professionals. A direct underground link to Honeycomb Valley will be one of the first things to be put in place.
Stonehill will be renamed and  the renovation of the town will start over the next few weeks.
***Note:  The contest is mentioned in the column to the right***

A special visitor

On the very last day of September, John and Amy were expecting a special visitor.

screenshot-240

Mother Marie-Thérèse had come from Sandy Valley upon John’s request. He wanted to discuss the possibility of a place in the convent of Saint Bibine for Martha, to set her straight again. From the look on Amy’s face it seems she had her doubts.
Mother Marie-Thérèse was convinced her convent was the right place for girls like Martha who had lost their way.

special-visitor

And there she was…

screenshot-250

Sometimes a look is enough…

looks

“Martha, I’d like you to meet Mother Marie-Thérèse. She’s come all the way from Sandy Valley and we feel it would be the perfect place for you to spend a few months…”

Martha couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

screenshot-256

“You’ve got to be kidding me! Me! In a convent! Like HELL! There’s no way dad!”

Mother Marie-Thérèse was appaled by Martha’s behaviour.

screenshot-259

As was John.

screenshot-262

“It’s things like this Martha! This is why you need to go there. You can’t say things like that! You’re going, a week from today and that’s final! Until you’re 18, you’ll do as I say and I say you’re going.

This was when Martha turned to her mother.
“Why don’t you say something mum? You can’t seriously agree with this?!”how-mum-feels

“Well Martha…” Amy sighed. “You have to understand we’re only doing this in your best interest… With the way things are going now, you’ll never find a suitable husband… Just a little while in the convent will help set you straight again….”

very-angry-martha

“I can’t believe what I’m hearing mum! You of all people should know what it’s like to be suppressed! I’m not going! I’m not! No matter what either one of you says!”

That went well…

screenshot-272

Martha then ran up to her bedroom and lay on her bed thinking of how to get out of this situation. And eventually she knew there was only one solution…

screenshot-275

And so, that night, when everyone in the Edwards house was fast asleep, she snuck out of her bed, careful not to wake her sisters…sneak-out

… put on her coat, grabbed her backpack and tiptoed downstairs…

screenshot-278

… quietly crept out of the house, through the gate…out-the-door

… and in the very early hours of October, Martha disappeared out of sight…

September 05: A Little Bit of Everything (Pt. 1)

*** It’s been two and a half years since my last update. Real life took priority over, well, pretty much everything. Those of you who know me personally or follow me on Tumblr will know that since my last post on here, I’ve been pregnant and had a baby boy (July 2015). They say little babies sleep a lot, but this wasn’t true for mine. When he was a baby, he took short naps lasting 40 minutes tops. Since it takes half an hour to start up Honeycomb Valley, playing during naps was not possible and in the evenings I couldn’t concentrate on the game anymore. My son is now a walking and talking 1,5 year old who takes only one nap a day, but since this nap lasts around 2 hours now, I get a chance to play again. Expect slow progress, but yes, things will happen again. Hooray! ***

Did you know time is a strange thing in the Sim Universe? While time went on in towns like Sandy Valley and Bimlico, it was like someone had frozen Honeycomb Valley at the end of August 05. How very weird. And yet, the Sims of Honeycomb Valley had no idea of any of this and when September finally rolled around, they went about their business as if nothing had happened. As for that September, ah well, it was a little bit of everything.

The very first day

On the morning of the first day of the new schoolyear, Benjamin was making breakfast. This year it was a very special first day, as Ethan, who turned 5 in June, was finally starting school. Finally, because he had been looking forward to it for so long now.

screenshot-78

And sure enough, Ethan was out of bed as soon as he had opened his eyes that morning. Yay! School!

goodmorning-ethan

The whole Anderson family enjoyed the breakfast dad had prepared and then it was off to school!

screenshot-82

A big hug for mum Grace, as Benjamin would take Isa and Ethan to school, seeing how he had to go there himself as well anyway.

screenshot-89

Ethan was proud to go to school on his new bike.andersons-off-to-school

SCHOOL!! Isa looks less excited… Maybe this has to do with the fact her friend Liam has moved on to Class 2, while she has another year in Class 1 ahead…

screenshot-94

Another family getting ready for their very first day of school in Honeycomb Valley was the Quinn family.

While the kids had breakfast, Tiana said goodbye to her husband, who would be gone for a few days, flying abroad.

screenshot-2

Jada put on her new clothes in her favourite colour and hoped she’d make a good impression on her classmates in Class 6.

jada-gussy-up

Finn had offered to meet Jada in front of the school, so she wouldn’t have to go in by herself. Such a gentleman.

screenshot-6

But Rachel wasn’t best pleased to see Finn and Jada together when she entered the class.

screenshot-16

Thankfully Sadie was there so she could utter her frustration whilst Jada was chatting to Finn.

rachel-not-amused

“Why, Sadie? Why do I always have to stand by and watch Finn with another girl? When he broke up with your sister I thought I’d finally get my chance. I mean, he put his arm around me for the school pictures back in May. And then at prom he chatted to me for at least ten minutes! And now she’s here and I’m back in second place…”

screenshot-13

“Rach” Sadie sighed. “Finn is your FRIEND. And maybe, now we’re in Class 6, the time has come to accept the fact that that is what he is, your FRIEND. And also, from the looks of it, Jada and he are also just friends.”

It was unfortunate that only the last part of that sentence was the part that stuck with Rachel…

screenshot-17

The youngest member of the Quinn clan had also started her day in Class 2. And look who she’s sitting next to…
The looks these two were exchanging can only mean trouble…

aliyah-and-ellie-school

And it seemed Ruth had caught their eye…

screenshot-23

When it was time for recess, Ruth went up to Ellie to ask her if she wanted to play with her outside. Ruth had only had boys in her class last year and figured now that there were finally some girls, she would have more playmates.
She soon learnt this assumption had been very wrong.
poor-ruth

“You don’t seriously think I’m going to play with YOU, do you. I don’t play with girls in ugly skirts!”

Once she came downstairs, Ellie told Aliyah all about the crazy thing Ruth had just asked her. Aliyah thought it was quite hilarious indeed.

mean-girls

But Ruth wasn’t going to give up that easily. When she saw Ellie and Aliyah playing on the swing, she again tried to join them.

screenshot-41

Aliyah would have none of it.

ruth-and-aliyah

“Are you really that dumb? We don’t want to play with a girl who wears baby pigtails! Hahaha!”

Things were better over at the high school building. Malik and Logan were fast becoming great friends, spending their recess chatting and laughing together. And look, there’s Zoe on her first day as a high school student, reunited with her best friend Emily.

screenshot-62

These two boys are meant to be best friends, I’m sure!

Henry’s big plan

It was known all around Honeycomb Valley that mayor Henry Newman was nowhere near finished with his project “Greenify Honeycomb Valley”. The Greenery had turned out to be a great success, both for the economy and for Henry’s reputation (and for the size of my save file) as had the renovation of the park. Further steps were now required. There had been talk of large buildings, such as the University and the hospital, being demolished and/or relocated elsewhere, but exact details were blurry and it also quite worried residents. Where would they go if they got ill? What would happen to their businesses? But Henry had a plan and in the second week of September he presented this plan to his council.

screenshot-99

Not far from Honeycomb Valley, only right over the hill, lays a small town known as Stonehill. Despite it once being a great place to live, it suffered from the big economic crash that occured some 20 odd years ago and is now a deserted ghosttown full of rundown buildings. It seems there are still some people living there, but they’re up to no good.

stonehill-location

Henry told his council he had been granted permission to annex the little ghosttown and make it part of Honeycomb Valley. The town would be renamed and cleaned up. henry-presentation-1

As Henry showed slides of the current state of the town, it became clear to everyone in the room a clean up was definitely necessary.henry-presentation-2

Deserted streets, overgrown parks and derelict buildings…

stonehill-collage

Henry further explained his plans for the town. It would be geared towards students and young professionals. The University would be placed there as well as lots of businesses now located in Honeycomb Valley.

screenshot-108

After Henry was done with his presentation, the council got a chance to ask questions and give their view on things.

screenshot-230

David wanted to know what the precise connection with Honeycomb Valley would be. Henry explained the town would be part of Honeycomb Valley in the sense it would share facilities “and a mayor!” He laughed. There would be a fast and direct underground line between the two towns, but the new town would be known by its own name.

greenify-meeting“Will there be schools for children and teens as well?”  Katie asked

screenshot-239

“No,” Henry answered. “For now, The Beehive will provide education for children and teens from both towns. If we place a primary and high school in the new town as well as a University, there’s a chance more and more young families will move there, and we risk Honeycomb Valley becoming a town with only ageing population. A schoolbus service will run from the new town to The Beehive.”

Renovation work in the new town would soon start.

Students to be

Meanwhile, five students to be had no idea about the plans for the new town and the University to be build there. As far as Daniel, James, Seth, Sarah and Jill knew, next month they would start their student lives at HVU and they were very excited. Even though classes wouldn’t start until October, today they’d get a tour of the University by a current student.

But first, coffee!

screenshot-109

The five friends arrived well on time and were chatting away rather excitingly while waiting for their guide to arrive. students-to-be

The guide turned out to be third year science student Narai Walker.

James immediately started chatting to Narai.

First stop was the library. While Narai told James about HVU’s music department, I caught Jill glancing their way… Still hung up on James, Jill, or could you have been checking someone else out…?university-library-tour

After their tour of the University, Narai took our prospective students to another very important student venue: The Bumblebee!

And even though Narai himself has visited The Bumblebee quite a few times over the past years, it seems he also spotted something new here today…

Guess Who’s Back?

It was very early one late August morning when she returned…

Screenshot-246

Anna was home! After a year abroad, she had returned to Honeycomb Valley! Her parents were so privileged to have her back again! (Or so she felt, anyway)

Screenshot-248

But after talking to her father for ten minutes, Anna was already annoyed again. She had been home for ten whole minutes now and no one had yet offered to draw her a bath or anything. And what was all that crying in the background?

Screenshot-249

Oh. Right. You.
Awww, the love between a mother and her son is so touching, isn’t it?

Screenshot-254

After a bath and breakfast, Anna quickly rushed to the park to meet with the one person she knew would be happy she was back: Suzan.

Screenshot-257

The first thing Anna did when she saw her BFF again, was utter her annoyance.

Screenshot-259

“Has my father gone completely mad when I was away?! What’s this nonsense about ‘greenify Honeycomb Valley’? What do we need more trees for? We’re not freaking rabbits, are we? We don’t need to live in a forest! There’s not even one proper club in this town, and now he’s talking about taking down shops as well?! The man is crazy I tell you! And all for his ‘image’!”

Suzan let her friend rant and of course agreed wholeheartedly with everything she said. After Anna was done ranting about her father, the girls sat down for some coffee and Anna told Suzan all about her travels. Since mum and dad had paid for it all, Anna’s year had consisted of fine hotels, hot guys, lots of shopping, going out late and lying on beaches. Very much your typical gap year, right? Umm no.
Either way, it was done now, and in October, Anna too would have to start University… That had always been the condition…park catch up

Sophie

After a few days in Sandy Valley at The Rock Festival, Sophie returned home again. Feeling sad and confused. She had phoned Ruby from the bus asking her to meet her at the busstation.

Screenshot-268

Thankfully, Ruby arrived soon.

Screenshot-270

“So, how was it, Soph? You sounded a bit off on the phone? Did something happen?”
“Let’s go to my house, I’ll tell you all about it…”

Screenshot-271

Once in her room, Sophie immediately told Ruby about the things that happened in Sandy Valley. About how she had not seen Jérémy at all and when she had asked him to meet her at the festival, he’d said he’d come, but he never did. chat about jeremy

“I’m worried Rub, what if he doesn’t like me anymore? I love him, you know, I really do, and I just don’t want to lose him!”
“There’s only one way to find out, Soph, you have to ask him. Call him up and ask him.”
“CALL him?! No, I couldn’t possibly! What if he says I’m right? What if he really doesn’t like me anymore, I’ll burst into tears on the phone! I don’t want that!”
“Then email him.”

“Yeah, I guess I will…”

And so it happened, Ruby gave her friend some privacy and Sophie wrote Jérémy an email…

Mail from Sophie

My dearest Jérémy,

What’s going on? I’m quite worried about you…

I’m back home again and sad and worried because I didn’t see you at all during the days I was in Sandy Valley… I still don’t quite know why you said you’d meet me at the Rock Festival, but never came. You also didn’t respond to any texts. Does it have something to do with your family?

I hope it’s not anything I did…

I miss you. I love you. Please write me back, I’m so worried…

Yours always,

Soph. ❤

And then it was gone… Now all that’s left is waiting for the reply. I know it’s hard Soph, I know…

New Kids on the Block

August was drawing to an end but the weather was still warm. On one of the last days of August, Esme headed out to meet Martha, when she spotted the big orange truck and the girl with the big hair across the street: new neighbours! She also noticed her ex boyfriend, walking up to girl with the big hair…

Screenshot-289

Yep, indeed, Finn had also noticed the new neighbours and decided to go and lend a hand.new neighbour

“Hi, I’m Finn Richardson, I live two doors down the street. Are you moving in? Need a hand?”
“Oh, that’d be great actually, thanks! I’m Jada Quinn, I’m moving in here with my parents and my brother and sister.”

Screenshot-295

“Sure! Just tell me what goes where!” And maybe later I can show you around town a bit? We have a great beach!”
“Yeah, that sounds nice!”

Esme, who had moved closer so she could eavesdrop on the conversation, decided to give Martha a call.

we have a situation

“Marth? Change of plans. Let’s meet at the beach instead. We have a problem.”

Esme wasn’t the only one who had noticed Finn talking to Jada. From across the street, Rachel was another silent witness to the scene…

Screenshot-300

The orange truck drew lots of attention. The house had been empty for a long time and Ellie often snuck into the garden to play there, and now someone had stolen her spot. She was not amused and quite determined to discover who was moving in right next to her.

Screenshot-301

And she was about to find out…

Screenshot-302

The girl walked straight up to Ellie.

Screenshot-306

“What are you looking at!?”

Screenshot-312

“What am looking at?! What are YOU doing here? This is my street! My dad is a policeman and he owns this whoooooooole street!”
“No, he doesn’t! We bought this house, so it’s my house, and I’m telling you you can’t look at it!”

Screenshot-315

“It’s a stupid house anyway, I don’t even want to look at it. Such a stupid house!”

Screenshot-318

“Yes, you’re right, it is stupid. I don’t even want to live here in this stupid house. My old house was waaaaaaay better and bigger and prettier and it looked just like a dollhouse and I didn’t have such a stupid neighbour!”

Screenshot-319

“….”
“….”
“I have a dollhouse, wanna come and play?”
“Sure!”

Screenshot-320

“I’m Ellie.”
“I’m Aliyah”

Oh heavens help us, there’s two of them…

Ellie and Aliyah spent the rest of the day with Ellie’s dollhouse.dollhouse

After taking the boxes into the house, Finn and Jada went to the beach like they had agreed upon earlier.

Screenshot-342

And, surprise, surprise, they weren’t alone… It was clear to Esme; maybe she and Finn had broken up, but that didn’t give him permission to take other girls to the beach! But she had a plan!

Screenshot-347

Esme didn’t wait long to make her move.

Screenshot-349

“Finny! Darling! What a coincidence meeting you here!  And you’re getting all tan, I see. Yum.”

Martha found it very amusing…

Screenshot-351

Finn was still stunned by Esme’s demeanor and didn’t quite know how to respond. Esme on the other hand, knew exactly what she was doing…

Screenshot-353

“Oh, forgive me, I’m being so rude! I didn’t even introduce myself to your friend. Hi, I’m Esme! So, you’re having a beach day with my Finny today? Isn’t he sexy in those trunks? Being the only one who knows what’s underneath them, I can tell you that… No, I shouldn’t tell you actually, I don’t want to embarrass him. *giggle* Well, we should go now. Bye Finny, call me!”

And then they were off.

“Was that your… girlfriend…? She’s quite… forward…” Jada asked Finn.
“Ex. Finn sighed. “It’s a long story. Come on, Iet’s go and have some ice cream”

And so they did.

Screenshot-360

Meanwhile, the last child of the Quinn family, 14 year old Malik, had discovered Honeycomb Valley had a comic book store and he couldn’t be happier.

And of course comic book stores are great places to meet fellow geeks. So, before long, Malik had found a new friend in Logan.

Screenshot-370

After a few hours at the comic book store, Logan and Malik walked home together. They had discovered they lived on the same street and agreed to hang out again soon.

“So kids,” mother Tiana asked, “Do you think you’ll like living in Honeycomb Valley?”

August 05: Coffee and Ice cream (pt. 1)

During the lazy summer month of August not a lot happened in Honeycomb Valley. Well, actually, no, that’s not true, quite a lot happened in Honeycomb Valley actually. But nothing too exciting. I guess it was just your typical summer month. You know those, with long, warm and busy days while you’re actually not doing a whole lot? In a nutshell it was all just coffee and ice cream.

Home Alone

bye mum and dadAs you may remember, Hannah had not been feeling well. She had been home with burn out symptoms for quite a while and now that her husband Elliot had free time too, they had decided to go on holiday. Just the two of them. Because Seth was in Sandy Valley performing at the Rock Festival with The Hot Wings, this meant Rachel and Ruby were to be home alone while their parents were away.

Screenshot-56

The girls first had some breakfast while deciding what they would do. Their father trusted them to not break the house down and he was right to, because the Murray sisters were quite responsible girls. Therefore Elliot had even allowed them to have friends stay over. Just as long as they put everything back the way it was afterwards.

A trip to the pool was first on the agenda though!

Screenshot-57

Unfortunately for Rachel, her best friend Sadie was in Sandy Valley as well, being the female voice of The Hot Wings. So she was left to hang out with Ruby’s friends as well. They were all very nice though, so it wasn’t a problem. Ruby had invited Trisha, Jeffrey and Logan to join them at the pool. Her best friend Sophie couldn’t come because she, yup, you guessed it, was also in Sandy Valley.

Screenshot-61

Ruby and Trisha had been spending a lot of time together since their first date and were very much enjoying each other’s company still.

We’ll check back with Rachel and Ruby and her friends later!

Screenshot-68

Surfing Lesson

Elsewhere in Honeycomb Valley, namely at newly established Surf Shack, Joel, Ryan and Joshua met up.

Screenshot-71

Joel and Ryan were quite excited, as today they would get their first surfing lesson! Joshua wasn’t going surfing. This type of activity was not allowed, his father had told him. But he did come to see how his friends would do!

Brody, owner of The Surf Shack and surf instructor, explained to the boys what would happen.
Screenshot-73

They had their lesson on the surfing station, which simulates waves.surfing lesson

Brody thought they both did well, but did tell them to make sure they wore suits next lesson.

After the lesson, the boys sat down for a drink.

Screenshot-80

“I was thinking”, Joel said, “remember how I had my birthday at the beach last year? That was fun, right? So, since I’m turning 13 next week, how about we do it again. But this time, here, at the shack. And without my parents and all that. Just us. And the class.”

Screenshot-86

“Which class?” Ryan asked. “Last year’s class of next year’s class?”
“Umm, both?”
“Good.”

Slumber Party

Meanwhile, back at the Murray household, Ruby and Rachel had decided to throw a little slumber party. After the swimming pool, Trisha, Jeffrey and Logan had gone home to get some stuff, including two sets of pyjamas, because there had been talk of a pyjama waterballoon fight, so they’d need a change of clothing.

Ruby and Rachel had made room in the living room and ordered food.

Screenshot-87

There was some dancing…do a little dance

…and a ghost story…ghost story

And after the pyjama water balloon fight* and a change of clothing, Ruby and Trisha had a few moments to themselves…Screenshot-95

And Ruby had a question to ask Trisha:

Screenshot-98

“I really like spending time with you Trish. We’re having a great time, right? So um… do you want to be my girlfriend?”

Yup, she did. 🙂

Screenshot-100

***Note: there actually was no pyjama waterballoonfight. What really happened was my game crashed halfway through the slumberparty and when I started back up, I had to replay it and they were all wearing different pyjamas, so I made up the waterballoon fight to have an explanation. Shhh, our little secret! ***

A few hours later, everyone was asleep.

Screenshot-101

The next morning, the Murray sisters had breakfast together, while the others were still sleeping. Although… breakfast? Ruby had a leftover hotdog and Rachel just drank some fruit juice, but oh well…

Screenshot-104

After the guests had left, the girls found out they had an email from their parents

Screenshot-105

“Oh no, not kissing pictures!”

Elliot mail

Hello girls!

How are things back home? Are you having fun having the house all to yourselves? We’d better find it back in the same condition! Have you heard from Seth?
Your mother and I are having a great time here in Monte Vista. She’s feeling a lot better already and she wanted me to ask you what you think of her new look. She went and saw an Italian stylist here.
I included a few pictures so you can get an impression of how we’re doing here.
We miss you! Give Seth our love when he calls.

See you soon!

Love,
Dad.

Seems they’re having a good time!

Babybellies on the beach

Since their meeting at the hospital, Susie and Morgan had kept in touch and actually became rather good friends. It turned out they had a lot in common. They were both in their thirties and had both been dealing with an unfulfilled wish to be a mum for quite a while. Luckily, another thing they had in common, was the fact that they were both pregnant now. Even if Susie was just a tad further along than Morgan was.

Today, they planned to spend a day together. they started out with coffee in the park.

Screenshot-107

After which they went to the beach to catch some sun and enjoy the water.babybellies beach 1

Hey, look who also turned up at the beach! Susie was happy to see her niece again.Screenshot-112

Kyra often confided in her aunt when she had something on her mind, and therefore Susie knew how Kyra had been looking forward to Camp Windiwell and how she had been hoping Logan would finally really see her. So, naturally, Susie wanted to know how it had been.
small chat

“So, how are you? How was Camp Windiwell? Did a certain boy finally pay attention to you?”
“Well…”
Kyra giggled “A certain boy did, yeah, but it wasn’t at all like I expected…”
“Ohh!! Y
ou know what? Come to the ranch tomorrow morning and we’ll have breakfast and you can tell me all about it, okay?”
“Sure! I’ll see you tomorrow!”

After this meeting with Kyra, Susie and Morgan spent a few more hours at the beach.

Being pregnant, the girls both had a bit of a backache, so they decided to end their day together at the spa, where they received a relaxing massage.massage

And then dazed off in the hot tub. spa bubbles

The spa had some great salads.salad

And then the day had come to an end. Both girls were tired, but had had a great day together.

Breakfast at Susies

Like they had planned, Kyra showed up at her aunts house the following morning. Luke was out on a long walk with Boy, so the girls would have time to chat.

While Susie made pancakes, Kyra went to cuddle with and feed Cinnamon.

horsie

Then the pancakes were ready, so Kyra and Susie sat down at the table.
breakfast at susies

“So honey, tell me, how was camp? What happened with Logan?”
“Well, not a lot… He didn’t actually show any interest in me. Not until Silas, that is…”

And so Kyra told her aunt everything about Silas. How much fun they had had together, about the kiss, about how she really likes him and about how Logan suddenly started flirting with her after she and Silas had kissed.

“But now I’m just so confused aunt Susie… I really like Silas. I do. He’s so cute and sweet and he really likes me. But he lives very far away. And Logan… I’ve liked Logan for years, that doesn’t just completely disappear, you know, and he’s finally paying attention to me! What should I do…?”
“Hmmm, darling, I don’t think you should stop living your life waiting for one boy… I did that, remember? And therefore I know it’s not a good idea. If he’s truly interested in you, he’ll let you know. You’re not married yet! Who knows, you might still end up with him, but for now, you’ve had a good summer with Silas, right? And if this still works for you over distance, that’s good! Planning ahead is great, Kyra, but life can throw you some interesting curveballs, I’ve learned that the hard way. And before you know it, you find yourself nearly 40 and alone. Don’t wait for life. Take it as it comes. But hey, I’m just your old auntie, right? Maybe you’re better off taking advice from someone your own age. What does Holly have to say about all this?”
“Pffft, don’t even get me started on Holly…”
“Uh oh, I guess this calls for some tea…”

And so they headed outside to have some tea. And Kyra told Susie all about how Holly had ignored her most of the summer because she’d been hanging out with Molly instead.
But Susie reassured her and told her not to worry. This new girl might have been interesting for the summer, but it takes a lot to break up a friendship that’s been going strong for ten years. It was probably just a phase.

Screenshot-165

Kyra felt really relieved after this talk with her aunt. 🙂

Screenshot-162

Joel’s Party

Halfway through August, Joel turned 13. Like he told Ryan and Joshua earlier, he organised his birthday party at the beach. At first it was just supposed to be balloons and a stereo, but Chantal had told him her brother Wesley had started deejay-ing and would be willing to play at Joels party. For a fee of course. Theo and Samantha (Joel’s grandparents who pretty much raised him for the first 10 years of his life and now miss him dearly) agreed to pay for it and even rented equipment and lights so Joel could have a great party.

Screenshot-168

The first thing Ryan did was ask Zoe to dance.

Screenshot-170

Of course Joel also had a go at being the DJ himself for a while.

Screenshot-174

Holly was quite happy to be at the party. She felt it absolutely rocked.

Screenshot-175

When Zoe sat down in the sand for a moment, Ryan immediately joined her to have a chat.

***Ever since they turned teens in June, Ryan has been getting the wish to “kiss Zoe for the first time” the moment they start talking to one another. She has no such wishes towards him though, which to me is very in keeping with how I see them: Zoe is still very much a child at 12, while Ryan has already been hit with the effects of puberty. So, for now, Ryan has a crush on Zoe, while she is totally oblivious.***

Screenshot-178

It may have been a party, but Kyra rather had a nap on a towel.
Screenshot-179

When evening approached, Joel made some hotdogs on the barbecue by The Surf Shack.

Screenshot-187

Everyone really seemed to enjoy Wesley’s music. He might have a career in something after all.

Screenshot-189

Jessica, the girl who sells ice cream at the beach, also liked Wesley’s music. And Wesley liked Jessica’s…. ummm… “eyes”, so he took a little break to try and charm her. For some reason they were closely watched by Emily.dj flirt

But Wes had a job to to do, so before long it was back to the music!
***Note; if anyone knows how to make it so my Sims are more eager to dance to the DJ’s music than to just stand there and watch him, I’d love to hear…***

Screenshot-197

Around midnight, the party ended. The kids all felt it had been “epic” (even though I thought it had been quite dull and disappointing, but then again, I’m not 13 anymore)

Wes was now off duty, but still had some unfinished business.  (Go home, Emily!)

Screenshot-199

“Sooo, you liked my music? How about we make a little music together?”

Jessica’s silly grin was all the incentive Wesley needed to make his next move. Wes is never one to waste time…

Screenshot-200

Since Jessica didn’t object to the kiss, Wes had another idea he wanted to run by her…

Screenshot-203

“You know, I have my own jacuzzi, care to join me?”

Even though I think a hot tub behind the trailer where he lives with has parents and siblings can’t have been what Jessica had in mind when Wes said “my own jacuzzi”, she still got in…

Apparently Jessica doesn’t have very high standards…wanna see my jacuzzi

Go back to…

part 2

Unfortunately, Lison wasn’t the only one catching the flu. Kylie got ill too and had to stay in bed as well.
With Kylie out of the running, the task of entertaining the teens fell entirely on (childish) Don. And the ideas he had weren’t always met with much enthusiasm. Like his plan to go the ranch. Although Molly, Holly and Kyra liked this, the rest of the gang was rather bored here. And it turned out it wasn’t much fun for the girls either, as there were no horses available to ride.

Molly did ask this local lady if she could perhaps ride her horse, but she wanted none of it.

Screenshot-215

However, Molly persisted and eventually, the lady said yes. Molly was over the moon! She missed her horse Butter and was happy to ride again.

Screenshot-218

Don then took the kids (apart from Molly, who he allowed to stay at the ranch. In a strange town. By herself. While he is responsible.) to the football field, which they liked a little better. Jeffrey and his new friend Elliott had a little one on one and Logan and Khalid took turns showing one another what they could do with a ball.

And Don played guitar…football skills

Holly challenged Ben to a shootout as well, but Ben is much more athletic than he may seem, because he caught every ball she tried to get in and scored every time while she was in goal.

one on one

Silas and Kyra meanwhile only had eyes for each other. Screenshot-229

Don showed his maturity by giving Jeffrey a scare. At least someone was having a good time…

Screenshot-236

Apart from Don, the kids got fed up with the football field before long and they all went back to Windiwell to spend the rest of the afternoon doing their own thing.

Molly and Holly immediately went to take in some sun.Screenshot-237

While friends Logan, Jeffrey and Ben did the thing they love best: fishing!

Screenshot-238

Kyra and Silas had a game of gnubb…

..and some closer contact.gnubb romance

Don also had to take care of dinner, so salad it was!

Screenshot-247

After dinner, he made a fire, so they could have marshmallows for dessert.

Screenshot-253

Both Don and Khalid burnt theirs though.burnt marshmellows

Jeffrey didn’t join the group at the fire, he had something much more interesting to do. He found a bird! A nuthatch! How adorable! He decided to try and bring it home and named it Noosa.

Screenshot-256

Holly and Khalid also wandered away from the group after a while for a bit more stargazing before bed.

Screenshot-267

Another day, another breakfast. Which Elliott ate by himself at a separate table… And hey, look who’s up!breakfastThankfully it had only taken a few days for Lison and Kylie to feel better again. Which was a good thing, because the end of their stay was fast approaching.

The plan today was to go windsurfing! Yeah! All teens (and Don) loved this plan!
windsurf

They stopped at the field again. It looked like Noosa was already feeling quite comfortable with Jeffrey because she (he?) showed up there as well.Screenshot-281

Waterballoon fight!

Screenshot-283

In the afternoon, the wind turned and they all got back on their boards to return to the beach. Don stayed behind, because he wasn’t done windsurfing yet.

When he eventually did come back he approached fast and showed up his skills by navigating his board through the swimming kids.

Screenshot-285

While Don was actually quite proud of what he could do with his board,  Kylie was getting fed up with his childish behaviour and took him apart to give him a piece of her mind.childish

“What were you thinking out there?! You could have taken someone’s head off! Stop being so irresponsible! You’re an ADULT! This camp isn’t about you having a good time, it’s about THEM having a good time! And I hear you even left Molly alone on the ranch a few days ago! You’re so childish Don, I don’t know if I can do this with you anymore!”

Don thought Kylie was overreacting.

While Don and Kylie were fighting, this happened in the background….
unexpeted flirt

Wow… Was it because Kyra had something going on with Silas now? Was it jealousy? Whatever it was, Logan, who never paid anything other than friendly attention to Kyra, suddenly couldn’t stop flirting with her.
It confused Kyra greatly. She didn’t flirt back. But this was still Logan…

***Note: as stated previously, I don’t control flirts at Windiwell. I saw Logan flirting with Kyra whilst focused on Kylie and Don. She really is a good girl though and despite it being Logan (whom she’s had “kiss wishes” for ever since she became a teen), she never flirted back. She responded with shy smiles to all his flirts, but then proceeded to “ask about day” and stuff like that. He however, couldn’t stop flirting with her and holding her hands and giving her amorous hugs…)

Molly witnessed the whole thing with interest. Was this so she had something new to gossip about with Holly? Or was it because she wanted to tell her friend Silas someone else was showing interest in Kyra?

No. It turned out Molly was this interested because it gave her an idea. Holly had kissed a boy. Kyra had kissed a boy and now even had another flirting with her. Even Lison had kissed a boy (Elliott, in the very beginning, after they just arrived). She didn’t want to be the only girl not getting kissed this summer! So when Jeffrey stepped out of the water, Molly approached him.

waterflirt

“Wow… You’ve gotten so tan. It looks good on you…”
“Ummm, thanks?”
“Come with me to that tree, I need to show you something”
“O…kay…”

And so Jeffrey joined Molly under the tree and she didn’t waste any time making her move.
She caught him completely by surprise and he didn’t know what to think at first, but hey, if a girl kisses you, what’s a 16 year old boy to do?

another kiss

***Note: it was actually really funny. Molly watched the scene between Logan and Kyra with interest and then went straight up to Jeffrey -whom she only talked to a few times up until then- and started flirting with him. The wish to kiss him came up almost instantly too. So I interpreted it like she didn’t want to be the only girl going home unkissed.***

The last days passed quickly and before long, the last night was upon them. This year, they would leave on a night bus after their karaoke night.

First it was grouppicture time though!

Then it was time for the traditional last night stuff. Karaoke started a bit earlier than usual due to the fact the bus would leave around 11.Screenshot-335

Despite their argument and the fact that Kylie still didn’t think she could do this with Don another year, they did do the opening number together. Because he is a good singer.

The kids, with the exception of Ben, also seemed to like it.

Molly and Holly, or “The Ollies”, as they had started to call themselves, also did a duet.

The crowd seemed less enthusiastic this time round…

Kyra and Lison, Logan and Jeffrey and Silas as a solo artist also did a song. After which all of them had the wish to be professional singers. I don’t think that’s a good idea for any of you, kids, sorry…

After karaoke, they all got their bags.

And then it was over and they started their nightly busride.

It was morning when the bus arrived in Honeycomb Valley where Kyra, Holly, Logan and Jeffrey had to get off and were greated by familymembers and dogs. home

Kyra started to tell her mother everything about camp. Although… not everything obviously. Silas was kept out of her stories for now. I mean, this is her mother.

Even though they were happy to see their parents again, both Holly and Kyra sent their parents away and told them they would come home by themselves so they could say goodbye to their friends and summer romances in private.

After goodbyes, Molly, Silas, Benjamin, Lison, Elliott and Khalid got back in the bus which would take them home as well. Bye bye lovelies, it was so much fun to spend this summer with you! We will miss you!

And with that bus leaving, July had ended, but summer had not yet! Oh no, summer still had a lot more in store for Honeycomb Valley… But more on that another time!

Where do we go from here?

So, now that the bus has left and the group has been split up again, what will happen to the friendships and more intimate connections my simmies made at summercamp? And what will happen to summercamp itself after that fight between Kylie and Don? Will there be another Camp Windiwell next simyear?
Truth is, I don’t know. As far as the friendships and romances are concerned, it’s not entirely up to me as Sandy, Sara and Alex may have plans for their simmies as well. But this is my view on it;
Kyra really likes Silas. She’s not the type of girl to just go around kissing boys for fun. So she wouldn’t have kissed him if she didn’t really like him. I think that from her end she will surely try to keep things going with him for a while. However, as we could see, one look from Logan and she still melts. Her crush on him is deep rooted. If he keeps all this flirting up, it will cause serious dilemma’s for our Kyra. The moment on the beach already quite confused her.
Holly is different. She wanted to kiss a boy this summer and that’s what she did. I don’t see her as the type of girl who takes her summer fling with Khalid very seriously. She will probably text him a few times and wouldn’t be against a few more kisses if they’d ever meet again, but if she meets someone else, or he does, so be it. It’s all good.
Jeffrey is not entirely sure what that kiss with Molly had been about. It was just that one kiss, even though they did hang out a lot after it. I can see them staying friends, but if she wanted more, he would be open to that as well.
As far as Windiwell goes. Hmmm… I’m starting to think I’ve gotten everything out of it that I could have gotten out of it and things are becoming a bit repetitive. I’ll have to see how I feel when summer rolls round again. Time will tell.

Lastly, to my dear Sandy, Sara and Alex; thank you for your teens, I’ve had a blast with them. I’m sorry some of them didn’t get as much “screentime” as some of the others, but dividing attention equally between this many sims isn’t always easy. I also had to limit the number of pictures otherwise this would have been a 5 part story! But here are two bonus pictures for you:
