Go back to…
Unfortunately, Lison wasn’t the only one catching the flu. Kylie got ill too and had to stay in bed as well.
With Kylie out of the running, the task of entertaining the teens fell entirely on (childish) Don. And the ideas he had weren’t always met with much enthusiasm. Like his plan to go the ranch. Although Molly, Holly and Kyra liked this, the rest of the gang was rather bored here. And it turned out it wasn’t much fun for the girls either, as there were no horses available to ride.
Molly did ask this local lady if she could perhaps ride her horse, but she wanted none of it.
However, Molly persisted and eventually, the lady said yes. Molly was over the moon! She missed her horse Butter and was happy to ride again.
Don then took the kids (apart from Molly, who he allowed to stay at the ranch. In a strange town. By herself. While he is responsible.) to the football field, which they liked a little better. Jeffrey and his new friend Elliott had a little one on one and Logan and Khalid took turns showing one another what they could do with a ball.
Holly challenged Ben to a shootout as well, but Ben is much more athletic than he may seem, because he caught every ball she tried to get in and scored every time while she was in goal.
Silas and Kyra meanwhile only had eyes for each other.
Don showed his maturity by giving Jeffrey a scare. At least someone was having a good time…
Apart from Don, the kids got fed up with the football field before long and they all went back to Windiwell to spend the rest of the afternoon doing their own thing.
While friends Logan, Jeffrey and Ben did the thing they love best: fishing!
Kyra and Silas had a game of gnubb…
Don also had to take care of dinner, so salad it was!
After dinner, he made a fire, so they could have marshmallows for dessert.
Jeffrey didn’t join the group at the fire, he had something much more interesting to do. He found a bird! A nuthatch! How adorable! He decided to try and bring it home and named it Noosa.
Holly and Khalid also wandered away from the group after a while for a bit more stargazing before bed.
Another day, another breakfast. Which Elliott ate by himself at a separate table… And hey, look who’s up!Thankfully it had only taken a few days for Lison and Kylie to feel better again. Which was a good thing, because the end of their stay was fast approaching.
In the afternoon, the wind turned and they all got back on their boards to return to the beach. Don stayed behind, because he wasn’t done windsurfing yet.
When he eventually did come back he approached fast and showed up his skills by navigating his board through the swimming kids.
“What were you thinking out there?! You could have taken someone’s head off! Stop being so irresponsible! You’re an ADULT! This camp isn’t about you having a good time, it’s about THEM having a good time! And I hear you even left Molly alone on the ranch a few days ago! You’re so childish Don, I don’t know if I can do this with you anymore!”
Don thought Kylie was overreacting.
Wow… Was it because Kyra had something going on with Silas now? Was it jealousy? Whatever it was, Logan, who never paid anything other than friendly attention to Kyra, suddenly couldn’t stop flirting with her.
It confused Kyra greatly. She didn’t flirt back. But this was still Logan…
***Note: as stated previously, I don’t control flirts at Windiwell. I saw Logan flirting with Kyra whilst focused on Kylie and Don. She really is a good girl though and despite it being Logan (whom she’s had “kiss wishes” for ever since she became a teen), she never flirted back. She responded with shy smiles to all his flirts, but then proceeded to “ask about day” and stuff like that. He however, couldn’t stop flirting with her and holding her hands and giving her amorous hugs…)
Molly witnessed the whole thing with interest. Was this so she had something new to gossip about with Holly? Or was it because she wanted to tell her friend Silas someone else was showing interest in Kyra?
No. It turned out Molly was this interested because it gave her an idea. Holly had kissed a boy. Kyra had kissed a boy and now even had another flirting with her. Even Lison had kissed a boy (Elliott, in the very beginning, after they just arrived). She didn’t want to be the only girl not getting kissed this summer! So when Jeffrey stepped out of the water, Molly approached him.
“Wow… You’ve gotten so tan. It looks good on you…”
“Come with me to that tree, I need to show you something”
And so Jeffrey joined Molly under the tree and she didn’t waste any time making her move.
She caught him completely by surprise and he didn’t know what to think at first, but hey, if a girl kisses you, what’s a 16 year old boy to do?
***Note: it was actually really funny. Molly watched the scene between Logan and Kyra with interest and then went straight up to Jeffrey -whom she only talked to a few times up until then- and started flirting with him. The wish to kiss him came up almost instantly too. So I interpreted it like she didn’t want to be the only girl going home unkissed.***
The last days passed quickly and before long, the last night was upon them. This year, they would leave on a night bus after their karaoke night.
First it was grouppicture time though!
And Molly and Jeffrey discovered a lizard.
Despite their argument and the fact that Kylie still didn’t think she could do this with Don another year, they did do the opening number together. Because he is a good singer.
The kids, with the exception of Ben, also seemed to like it.
Molly and Holly, or “The Ollies”, as they had started to call themselves, also did a duet.
The crowd seemed less enthusiastic this time round…
Kyra and Lison, Logan and Jeffrey and Silas as a solo artist also did a song. After which all of them had the wish to be professional singers. I don’t think that’s a good idea for any of you, kids, sorry…
After karaoke, they all got their bags.
Don told a final ghost story while they waited for the bus.
And then it was over and they started their nightly busride.
Even though they were happy to see their parents again, both Holly and Kyra sent their parents away and told them they would come home by themselves so they could say goodbye to their friends and summer romances in private.
After goodbyes, Molly, Silas, Benjamin, Lison, Elliott and Khalid got back in the bus which would take them home as well. Bye bye lovelies, it was so much fun to spend this summer with you! We will miss you!
And with that bus leaving, July had ended, but summer had not yet! Oh no, summer still had a lot more in store for Honeycomb Valley… But more on that another time!
Where do we go from here?
So, now that the bus has left and the group has been split up again, what will happen to the friendships and more intimate connections my simmies made at summercamp? And what will happen to summercamp itself after that fight between Kylie and Don? Will there be another Camp Windiwell next simyear?
Truth is, I don’t know. As far as the friendships and romances are concerned, it’s not entirely up to me as Sandy, Sara and Alex may have plans for their simmies as well. But this is my view on it;
Kyra really likes Silas. She’s not the type of girl to just go around kissing boys for fun. So she wouldn’t have kissed him if she didn’t really like him. I think that from her end she will surely try to keep things going with him for a while. However, as we could see, one look from Logan and she still melts. Her crush on him is deep rooted. If he keeps all this flirting up, it will cause serious dilemma’s for our Kyra. The moment on the beach already quite confused her.
Holly is different. She wanted to kiss a boy this summer and that’s what she did. I don’t see her as the type of girl who takes her summer fling with Khalid very seriously. She will probably text him a few times and wouldn’t be against a few more kisses if they’d ever meet again, but if she meets someone else, or he does, so be it. It’s all good.
Jeffrey is not entirely sure what that kiss with Molly had been about. It was just that one kiss, even though they did hang out a lot after it. I can see them staying friends, but if she wanted more, he would be open to that as well.
As far as Windiwell goes. Hmmm… I’m starting to think I’ve gotten everything out of it that I could have gotten out of it and things are becoming a bit repetitive. I’ll have to see how I feel when summer rolls round again. Time will tell.
Lastly, to my dear Sandy, Sara and Alex; thank you for your teens, I’ve had a blast with them. I’m sorry some of them didn’t get as much “screentime” as some of the others, but dividing attention equally between this many sims isn’t always easy. I also had to limit the number of pictures otherwise this would have been a 5 part story! But here are two bonus pictures for you:
The Ollies being silly (this wasn’t posed!)
Ben finding the best fishing spot he could… Right in between a flirting Logan and Kyra…
