February 05: I Do (Pt. 2)

Go back to…
part 1

There she is…

Screenshot-226

Rebecca felt very nervous as she walked down the aisle with her father…Screenshot-228

But Ben was happy to see her, and before long it was time for rings and those two words Rebecca had been rehearsing her entire life: I do.I do

And thus, Ben and Rebecca were married! Hooray!

Screenshot-236

After the official part it was time for pictures.
With the parents and the flowergirls…

parents and flowergirls

And with both sets of families…Families

Then both families headed to the Edwards’ house for the reception.
First order of business was the cutting of the wedding cake!cake

Flowergirls Bethany and Ruth were the first to grab a slice. After all, this was a little bit THEIR day as well.

first ones to the cake

Becca got a hug from her sister-in-law Edith. When she visited Bonnie Brae, Rebecca stayed with Edith and the two were already quite close.

Screenshot-263

Martha needed some wine to get through the rest of this day.

Screenshot-271

Rebecca still couldn’t believe she was married!

Screenshot-274

Ruth and Bethany really got along great, I think there’s friendship for life between this two!bff

When it got later, the two had to say goodbye though, as Bethany and her mum still had something else to do that evening.

Screenshot-278

After changing into their regular clothes at the hostel, Bethany and Edith stopped by the Knight household. Edith had seen an ad in the supermarket earlier that week saying this family had kittens up for adoption and she and her daughter really wanted to take one home to Bonnie Brae. They chose Snap and both Edith and Bethany couldn’t be happier.kitty

Meanwhile, the rest of the Brown family, including Ben and Rebecca had arrived back at the hostel too. Ben and Rebecca got the Turquoise Room for their wedding night. It isn’t a fancy room in a fancy hotel, but at least it’s private.

This was the part of getting married Rebecca had been dreading… A wedding night meant… well…

Screenshot-279

She retreated into the bathroom to get changed and came out wearing what she felt was already quite a revealing nightgown. Bare arms and all that…change for the night

Her husband told her she looked beautiful

Screenshot-283

And soon started to tickle her to make her laugh. It worked, but Becca was still nervous.frisky

As they settled onto the bed, it became clear that although Rebecca might have been dreading this part of the wedding, this was the bit Ben had been looking forward to…

Screenshot-290

Goodnight Mr. and Mrs. Brown…the night

Bye Bye Becca

Veryyyy early the next morning, the two families met at the busstation again. It was time to say goodbye. Goodbye to Rebecca.

bye my family

Bethany and Ruth also said their goodbyes and Bethany promised Ruth could visit her sometime soon.

Screenshot-301

And then the bus left and Becca waved goodbye to her family. Amy was sad…

Screenshot-306

And so Rebecca waved to her family as they faded in the distance…fadingBye bye Becca, I’m sure you’ll be very happy in Bonnie Brae and we’ll see you again soon!

February 05: I Do (Pt. 1)

A lot happened in Honeycomb Valley in February, but the biggest event had to be THE wedding. No no, it wasn’t any type of royal wedding, or even a wedding of a VIS (Very Important Sim), but it was a wedding two big families in two different towns had been waiting for: the wedding of Ben Brown and Rebecca Edwards…

Leading Up to the Wedding

About a week before her big day, Rebecca was admiring the weddingpicture of her parents when she was joined by Martha.

Screenshot-38

“Doesn’t mother look beautiful, Martha? I’m so happy I can wear her dress to my wedding…”

Martha thought this remark was very funny.

Screenshot-40

“You’ve GOT to be kidding me, Becks, you’re actually HAPPY you get to wear that thing?!”

Rebecca had no time to worry about her sister’s opinion, because she had to be at the busstation. The bus from Bonnie Brae* was about to arrive!

***Note: Bonnie Brae is my mum’s town and Ben and his family are her sims, which she created. It was a lot of fun to have them in Honeycomb Valley for a while!***

Screenshot-46

And after the other bus had left, the bus from Bonnie Brae rolled into the busstation. There they were: Ben’s entire family.
It was a big bunch. Ben being the youngest child of Jeremiah and Agatha Brown meant he already had 3 siblings (a sister and two brothers) who all had spouses and children.

Arrivals from BB

After hellos and introductions to Rebecca and her parents, the Brown family went to the Rainbow Hostel (not too fancy and therefore, not too expensive) where they’d be staying until after the wedding.

Screenshot-57

Ben however, quickly left after dropping off his luggage for a date with his fiancée.
Coming from a small town, Ben is not used to public transportation, and most certainly not to underground systems. He had to try it!
Metro

Rebecca was already waiting for Ben at the Aquarium.Screenshot-68

Ben was so happy to see her, he immediately offered her some flowers he picked up on the way.

Screenshot-70

Once inside, the stared at the fishies together for a while. Rebecca was stunned to see robot fish in the aquarium.
Fishies

Ben just thought she was cute and proceeded to tell her so.

Screenshot-79

And then he made a really bold move…

Screenshot-80

Wow, Rebecca’s first kiss! She seems to have enjoyed that.

Screenshot-81

They went on the have a bite to eat at the restaurant downstairs.

Screenshot-83

After a fun day with Rebecca, Ben went back to his family and picked up some food for them too. The hostel doesn’t have a restaurant, but it does have a breakfast/lunch/dinner room with a small kitchen unit where you can make yourself some breakfast or enjoy food you picked up at a take away. Which is what the Brown family did.family hostel meal

After the meal, everyone retired to their rooms. Jeremiah and Agatha got the Purple Room, a private room, while the men stayed in the Red Room, a dorm for ten people and the women and youngest children got the Orange Room, also a dorm for ten people, where some toddler travel beds had been placed for the little ones. Exciting times lay ahead!

Screenshot-103

Ben and Becca’s Weddingday

On the morning of Ben and Becca’s wedding, Ben’s sister Edith and her husband Caleb were the first to have breakfast.

Screenshot-118

Thanks to this, their children were the first to be ready too. Ben’s niece Bethany was going to be a flowergirl along with Rebecca’s youngest sister Ruth and she was so excited! To kill time she played a bit of peek-a-boo with her sister Matilda. Screenshot-121

Which she continued to do when her parents and brother were also dressed and they had to wait in the lobby for the rest of the family to get ready.

Screenshot-123

Pretty soon, Ben’s brother Paul and his wife Fiona and their daughter Gillian were also ready to go.

Screenshot-125

The groom himself was feeling a bit nervous and gave his reflection a pep talk. Screenshot-132

Eventually the whole family was ready!

Screenshot-134

At the Edwards household meanwhile, the mood wasn’t too pleasant… Father John did NOT approve of Martha’s choice of clothes to wear to the wedding…

you're not wearing that

“What in the WORLD are you thinking, Martha! An outfit like that to your sister’s wedding! What will people think if a daughter of mine shows up wearing next to NOTHING!? You’re going to change, RIGHT NOW!”

But Martha just laughed in her dad’s face.

Screenshot-143

“Wow dad, take a chill pill. I like this outfit, it looks stunning on me, so I’m wearing it, whether you like it or not. Besides, Becca is covering enough skin for the both of us, hahaha!”

Oooo Martha, I’m not sure that was a wise move… I suspect John let it slide because he didn’t want to ruin Rebecca’s day, but I’m sure the last word has not been said about this…

Meanwhile Rebecca was upstairs changing into her dress. Yes, it used be her mother’s but now it was HER dress. She couldn’t be happier.

Screenshot-146

Amy was moved when she saw her daughter in her wedding dress. Martha may not like the dress, but Amy felt Rebecca looked gorgeous!mother of the bride

Then the bride went downstairs to be admired by the rest of her family (with the exception of Martha, obviously)

Screenshot-151

Upon arrival at the church, the flowergirls were happy to meet each other.

Screenshot-221

And when everyone, including the groom, had found their place, the ceremony could begin…Guests all in place

See how Ben and Rebecca got married in…
part 2

January 04: A Winterwedding

It had been snowing since early December, so by the end of January, most Sims in Honeycomb Valley were starting to grow tired of the snow. Christopher Brown and his fianceé Lexie were not among those wishing the snow away though. Their wedding would take place on the last day of January and snow would make it that much more magical.

A week before the big day, Lexie went to pick up her weddingdress at the bridal shop. Christopher stayed home with Jamie and tried to teach him some words.
1When Lexie and her best friend Naomi arrived at the bridal shop, it was still closed, so they decided to go for a round of ice skating on the canal.

Screenshot-166

Screenshot-152

Pretty soon, the doors opened and Lexie and Naomi went in. Lexie explained to the lady of the store she had come to pick up her dress and tried it on one final time. Naomi was stunned at how pretty her friend looked.

4

Later that week Lexie met up with her other best friend, Bradley, at his sister‘s salon: Erin’s Elegance to have her hair and make up done.

5

And then the big day arrived. Lexie got up very early to get ready.

Screenshot-185

While her equally excited husband-to-be woke their son.

Screenshot-186

In a beautiful light blue oldtimer, the pair and Jamie made their way up to the park* where the ceremony would take place.

8Naomi arrived right after Lexie, Chris and Jamie had.

Screenshot-197

The rest of the guests were already there: Lexie’s parents and twin sister Xandra, her nephew Joel with his dad, Bradley and his husband, David (funny fact: of the few weddings I’ve had in my game so far, Bradley and David have been to every one *giggle* ) and Christopher’s best friend Colin, who also happens to be Naomi’s boyfriend and their son Liam.10

Once the bride and her son arrived, all the guests took their places (all scattered of course… Sims…)

Screenshot-209

Screenshot-213

And it was time to get married!

Screenshot-214

14

Samantha was very happy to see her daughter get married, while Liam seemed rather bored by the ceremony.

Screenshot-224

Time for cake!

Screenshot-232

Screenshot-233

The bride and groom spontaneously started waltzing.

Screenshot-236

The first picture of the Brown family was taken…20

… After which there was more dancing! Of course the bride and groom had another waltz, but Christopher also had a dance with his mother-in-law, while Bradley took Lexie for a twirl. In the bushes… (That sounded very wrong, didn’t it?)
21

As the evening grew darker, the hour grew later and the air grew colder; little boys were getting tired, so the guests started to leave. Christopher and Lexie took their own little boy home as well…

Screenshot-255

…And after he was warm in his bed, they had no trouble finding their own bed as well!

May 02: Kyle and Erin’s Wedding

Please excuse the poor picture quality. This was before the installation of the new graphics card.

Kyle Marshall and Erin Stewart have known each other all their lives. They went to school together from the age of 5. Kyle used to pull Erin’s pigtails every chance he got and she would give him a push when he turned his back. When they got older, Erin would not push anymore when Kyle turned his back, she would instead just giggle with her friends. They started dating for the first time when they were about 15. Through out their teenage years, they had an on again/off again relationship, but from the time they were about 20, on stayed on.

On holiday to Champs Les Sims in ’01 Kyle got down on one knee and proposed. Erin joyfully accepted. They each had their own bachelor(rette) party and very soon it was May ’02 and the big day was upon them.

The night before the big day, Kyle slept over at his best friend Max‘s house, while Erin’s BFF Annabel came to stay with Erin.

The girls had some nectar and watched a soppy romantic film on tv before going to bed.

The next morning they were up early to get ready.

Since Erin is a great designer and stylist, she did her own hair and make up and wore a dress she designed herself.

At 11.00 the doorbell rang. The groom had arrived to pick up his bride. Erin waited nervously at the top of the stairs…

…while Kyle waited equally nervous at the bottom. (Nope, this is not posed, since I don’t like posing my sims for stories. Kyle just stood there and I took the opportunity to take a picture.)

He got a bit teary eyed when he saw his beautiful fiancée walk down the stairs.

Erin gave him a quick kiss to calm his nerves, and Kyle remembered he was supposed to hand her the bouquet.

Since Erin and Kyle both love red, I made red the accent colour of the wedding.

They got into the car specially rented for this occassion and went on their way to City Hall where the wedding room was reserved for their wedding.

Kyle and Erin had only invited their closest friends and relatives to attend the ceremony.  Other friends and co workers had been invited to the party at the beach later on.

Little Ellie Griffiths found it all a bit too overwhelming and was glad she had her mum there. To her sister Zoe it was all magical.

Max sat next to Erin’s brother Bradley.

Then, it was time for the bride to enter…

Erin’s brother in law David performed the ceremony.

And then they were married!

After the ceremony, Erin and Kyle went to a secluded place with the wedding photographer to have the wedding pictures taken, while the rest of the wedding party went on to the beach where the party would take place to get everything ready.

Erin was excited to see a wild horse at their photo location and had to have a picture taken with the horse.

Of course she had many pictures taken with her husband. (Unfortunately, I didn’t think to also screenshot the scenes after I had the photographer take the pictures. So Erin and Kyle have many beautiful weddingpictures hanging around their house now, but I can’t show them here, unless I take pictures of the pictures. Which I shall do at some point)

Around 17.00 (5pm) Erin and Kyle joined their weddingparty (Annabel had taken Ellie home to granddad, it had been a long day for her) at the beach. The photographer took a picture of the group, which they now all have in their house. (the one the photographer took, which is whom they’re facing)

They enjoyed wedding cake and good conversation.

And of course congratulations were in order.

A dancefloor had been lain down for the occassion. Of course Erin and Kyle were the first to take the floor.

More and more guests arrived and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

The party went on rather late.

And after an amazing weddingnight, Erin Marshall closed off the weddingchapter by writing her thank you notes to all the people who had attented her special day.
